MPL supported a major offshore energy program with high-volume guar gum supply delivered into an ecologically sensitive environment. By combining predictable logistics with strict biosecurity controls and verified handling documentation, MPL helped the client maintain drilling continuity without compromising safety or compliance.
A major offshore energy project required more than 600 tonnes of guar gum across 2023 and 2024, delivered to Barrow Island, a Class A Nature Reserve with strict biosecurity controls. The project needed reliable bulk supply for a horizontal drilling program, with delivery within tight timeframes and zero tolerance for compliance failures. Packaging presented additional risk, as bulk bags and pallets can introduce pests and contaminants. The client also required confidence that lifting and handling of bulk bags would be safe and verified before shipment.
MPL planned the supply program around the client’s drilling schedule and committed to end to end coordination from order to delivery. To meet biosecurity requirements, bulk bags and wooden pallets were fumigated prior to loading at port, reducing the risk of invasive pests and contamination. MPL arranged independent laboratory testing, including cyclic top lift testing and final load to failure testing on bulk bags. Test reports were supplied to the client before shipping to confirm compliance and support safe handling procedures on site.
MPL delivered consignments within 50 days from the date of order, maintaining continuity of supply for the drilling program while meeting the additional compliance requirements of an ecologically sensitive location. The fumigation process and verified bulk bag testing supported biosecurity and safety expectations, reducing operational risk for the client and simplifying site handling approvals. With reliable logistics, quality assurance documentation, and consistent communication, MPL helped the project maintain momentum without delays, demonstrating capability to supply large volumes into remote environments with strict regulatory constraints.
