Castor Oil and Derivatives for Lubrication (WA)

500 tonnes annual supply

1 region: WA

2 products: castor oil + derivatives

12 months planned program (bulk imports + on-time delivery)

MPL supported drilling fluid manufacturers in Western Australia with a stable, high-volume castor oil supply program. By coordinating international sourcing and repeat import logistics to a predictable schedule, MPL helped protect production continuity, reduce supply uncertainty, and keep year-round lubrication inputs available on time.

The Challenge

Drilling fluid companies in Western Australia required a dependable annual supply of 500 tonnes of castor oil and castor derivatives to support lubrication solutions. With ongoing operational demand, the client needed consistent bulk imports, predictable delivery, and reliable quality to avoid disruptions in manufacturing and field use. Supply interruptions or delays could impact production schedules and customer commitments. The client also needed a supplier capable of managing international sourcing, freight coordination, and documentation while maintaining timelines and cost control across repeated shipments throughout the year.

The Solution

MPL structured the supply around an annual program, coordinating sourcing, shipping schedules, and delivery planning to match the client’s operational requirements. MPL managed bulk import logistics end to end, including supplier coordination and freight planning, to provide consistent product availability. Through ongoing communication and proactive scheduling, MPL reduced uncertainty and helped the client plan manufacturing and distribution with greater confidence. By focusing on repeatable delivery performance, MPL supported the client’s ability to meet internal production targets and serve downstream drilling operations without interruption.

The Result

MPL delivered a stable annual supply of castor oil and derivatives, supporting the client’s lubrication requirements with consistent bulk imports and on time delivery. Predictable scheduling reduced the risk of supply gaps, improving operational planning and supporting reliable production output. With supply chain coordination handled by MPL, the client benefited from improved continuity and reduced administrative burden across repeat orders. The result was an effective long term supply partnership that enabled drilling fluid companies to maintain service levels while relying on a dependable importer for critical inputs.
